We’ll cover where you can find Prized Pelt and give a few pointers on farming it in this guide to Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak.

How to Get Prized Pelt

Prized Pelt is a carved material from the deer-like Kelbi small monsters that populate most of the levels in Sunbreak, though they aren’t in the Frost Islands. Once you find a herd of Kelbi, slay them and carve their remains for a chance at Prized Pelt.

This material isn’t the rarest Master Rank Kelbi material — that honor goes to High-quality Pelt — but it only has a 30% carve chance. You’re likely to receive more Kelbi Horns unless your luck is particularly good.

Kelbi Horn is luckily a required material for crafting Ancient Potions, a healing consumable that fills both your Health and Stamina bar once used. Like Pale Extract, it only comes from a single source and can sometimes be purchased for Kamura Points at the Argosy.

Like many other materials farms in the early game, the best location to farm Prized Pelt is in the Shrine Ruins. There are three locations where you’re likely to find Kelbi to hunt.

Kelbi frequent Zones 2 and 11 and the hills between Zones 8 and 10. There are six and eight Kebli across these three areas, giving you plenty of chances at Prized Pelt. Be aware that Kelbi won’t just sit there and are liable to hop away faster than you can get your weapon out.

With these tips in mind, you should have no trouble farming as much Prized Pelt as you need in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak. You can supplement what you find in the Shrine Ruins with Kelbi at other locations. For additional material guides, check out our articles on Allfire Stone, Awegite, and Overgrown Stiffbone.
