Up to 60% of our bodies are water, and about 71% of the Earth’s surface is water. But what is water made of? If you said H and O molecules, you’re right, but that’s a pretty boring answer. With these water-related mods for Minecraft, the chemical makeup of water will consist of 3 elements: F, U, and N.
10. Water Physics Overhaul
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.16 If you think physics in school is hard, try physics in Minecraft. This mod completely changes how water functions. It turns water into a finite resource instead of some strange lifeform that seemingly experiences asexual growth. Using a single water bucket on a flat surface will only produce a pathetic little puddle that’s about as thin as a pressure plate. Word of warning: this means that infinite water sources will become finite, and vanilla mob farms will become mob arenas. Having so many squids around must have rubbed off on these water blocks, because with this mod, water completely loses its backbone. What I mean by this is that water becomes incredibly easy to push around. If a block gets placed in water, the water simply gets pushed out. Even pistons can push water around now too.
9. Merpig
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 Legend has it that, in the ocean, there exist mysterious fish ladies that use their beauty to lure sailors to their deaths. I’m here to tell you that this legend is false. It wasn’t for a beautiful lady that these sailors died. It was for a beautiful pig with gills. I guess loneliness took a hard toll on those guys. Merpigs are silly-looking creatures that you can saddle up and ride. Their favorite meal is seagrass, so put that on a rod to control where they go! These creatures are essentially Striders for the overworld. Or horses for the water. Or boats for lonely players.
8. Mermaid Tail Mod
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.15-1.16 Remember earlier when I said that mermaids aren’t real and they were just pigs with gills? I’m definitely not backing down on that claim, but I also definitely never said that they can’t be real. With the Mermaid Tail Mod, you can be the beauty (luring sailors to their deaths)! This mod makes a craftable mermaid tail pretty enough to make Ariel jealous, as well as a deep-sea necklace that’s pretty enough to make Ariel even more jealous. Her hair will become as green as her tail when she hears that you can use dye to make this necklace whatever color you want!
7. Water Strainer
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 This mod introduces a new block called the water strainer, used to filter water for common resources. Water strainers can pick up sand, gravel, sticks, and clay. If you ever want to upgrade your brick house into a brick mansion, using these automated water strainers to collect the clay will save you a lot of hassle.
6. Water Erosion
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 If you don’t remember this from school, erosion is when natural agents (such as water) wear down the Earth’s surface. This definition will be easier to remember after you install this mod & your mountain-house spontaneously floods. With Water Erosion, some of Minecraft’s earthly blocks will decay over time when confronted with water – making the materials you build with more than just an aesthetic choice.
5. Extra Boats
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 Have you ever been out in the ocean, looting sunken ship after sunken ship, only to run out of inventory space? Or maybe you were stranded in a seemingly endless ocean with nothing but a furnace and some uncooked fish you caught. The only issue would’ve been, where could you have even placed the furnace? The bottom of the ocean? That’s no place for furnaces. That’s a place for people that don’t know how to swim. By allowing you to craft boats with chests or furnaces on them, Extra Boats allows for longer and more rewarding trips away from home. It also allows for larger boats that can carry up to 4 entities, as well as banners to be attached to your boat. An essential mod if you’re interested in the pirate lifestyle.
4. Aquaculture 2
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.14-1.16 In Minecraft, you can currently only catch four different types of fish. The ocean might be wet, but my inventory after fishing looks as dry as a desert! So with this mod, seafood lovers can finally achieve their dream of recreating Red Lobster in Minecraft! But without the lobster since, well… this mod only adds new fish. Aquaculture 2 does also adds new fishing rods and customizations for them, though. A diamond fishing rod would complement your diamond armor quite nicely.
3. Monster Of The Ocean Depths
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.16 This mod was almost not a mod, believe it or not. Because it was almost a creature of vanilla Minecraft. Monster Of The Ocean Depths introduces “Mob A” to the game. You see, before a big update, Mojang often does polls on what new cool thing to add, inviting players to become part of the creative process. Mob A was one of the cool things that didn’t quite receive enough votes to win – but was still well-received by players. This terrifying creature lives underwater and pulls entities down with its tongue to drown them. Seeing as there are no lifeguards in Minecraft, this mob poses a serious threat. Killing Mob A drops a serrated tooth. This tooth can be used to craft a fish trap or as a weapon that slows enemies down. By the way, if you’re curious, phantoms were the ones that beat mob A in the polls!
2. Scuba Gear
Check Out This Mod Supported Versions: 1.16 I usually avoid drowneds. But with this mod, they can spawn with some cool scuba gear. Each piece of the scuba gear has a unique function. The helmet grants underwater breathing, which is essentially what would happen if a regular helmet had respiration infinity on it. The chestplate corresponds to aqua affinity, since it allows you to mine blocks underwater at a regular speed. Although this effect does not take place if you have mining fatigue. The leggings allow for faster swim speed, allowing you to stride the depths of the ocean quicker, like a dolphin. And the boots allow you to walk quicker underwater. Great if you enjoy hanging out at the bottom of the ocean.
1. The Ocean Expansion
Check Out This Mod With an ocean as terrifying as this one, I suspect that Poseidon and Ares teamed up to program it together as a bonding exercise. Ocean Expansion adds several new underwater monsters into Minecraft for you to be scared of. It also adds weapons that you can use to protect yourself from being prey. But it’s not all war! The mod also pays attention to aesthetics too by introducing four new types of prismarine blocks.
