In adding Oculus to its features, the game includes some quality of life improvements for VR, including VR control options for players using Xbox One controllers, and innate keyboard and mouse support.
The update also adds a bevvy of new options to the in-beta Windows 10 version, such as “MSAA for crisp visuals, new render distance settings that will make use of powerful VR graphics cards, and optimized Windows 10 DX11 performance.”
Oculus Rift is part of Minecraft’s ever-expanding roster of VR headsets to come to the game, with Samsung Gear VR getting support in April, as well as the augmented reality headset Microsoft Hololens once it launches commercially.
