Emulate Gopi was born on 29 June 1975 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His genuine name is K. Gopinathan. He was raised by his siblings as their dad died when he was youthful.

He went to Singaram Pillai Higher Secondary School in Villivakkam, Chennai. Emulate finished his further instruction from University of Madras, Chennai and YMCA College of Physical Education.
