Fans of the Fallout series have been waiting almost 10 years since the release of Fallout 3 and November 10th can’t come soon enough for some of them to finally get Fallout 4. You would think that with Fallout 4 being such a big game that any other games that come out the same day will simply be overlooked, but Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has a different point of view.
In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Greenberg talked about the holiday line up of Xbox One, Rise of The Tomb Raider and about how strong the lineup for Xbox One is going to be in the future. Greenberg believes that both Fallout 4 and Rise of The Tomb Raider will be able to find huge success mainly because they aren’t targeted toward the same people and because they are “Not direct competitors per se,” according to Greenberg.
Greenberg also talked about the problems with releasing the game later in the year, “You’re like, well, does the consumer have money left to buy the game?” with so many big games coming out in the last two months of the year gamers are going to be overwhelmed with so many games. Star Wars Battlefront, Call of Duty Blacks Ops III and Just Cause 3 are just some of the huge games still yet to come this year.
Greenberg believes that Rise of The Tomb Raider is a fantastic game title that can and will stand with Fallout 4 on November 10th. Since Tomb Raider is more of an action adventure series and Fallout being an RPG, it seems reasonable to think that the two games can come out on the same day and not steal sales from each other.
